Pure weight loss can be attained by the successful loss of fat in the body. The key is knowing how to burn the fat and not the muscle. In this article I'll explain how to burn fat instead of lean muscle tissue so you'll be on your way to looking trimmer and healthier.

Let me warn you, this is going to take effort on your part. No pill is going to do it for you. These pills or supplements can aid in the burning of fat but should not be the only thing you do in an effort to acquire pure weight loss.

You know, there is a magic secret to burning fat, it's called exercise and a healthy diet. I know, I know, it's not what you wanted to hear. Nobody wants to hear about exercise and diet, most would rather jump off a cliff. Listen, it's not that bad, it's really easier than you think.

I am not telling you to exercise for an hour on the elliptical machine. On the contrary, your body will begin to burn it's fat stores after 16 minutes give or take a minute or two. It really depends on the individual. The first 15 minutes or so your body is burning it's store of carbohydrates. Make sure to exercise for at least 25 minutes to make sure you burn some of that unwanted fat.

A side not here, you don't want to lose muscle. Why? You see, muscle burns more calories. When you lose that muscle your lessen your fat burning machine. You ideally want to gain muscle to aid in the burning of fat. That's' why it's not a good idea to crash diet, your body will lose muscle and dampen it's ability to get rid of what you really want to see go, fat.

I want you to know as well, that if you don't see your weight go down on the scale at the gym, don't panic. This is normal. If your following a pure weight loss regimen involving eating right and exercise to build a little muscle, your body will be exchanging muscle for fat in the early goings. Don't panic, even with no loss in weight, your clothes will begin to fit better. Really.

One last thing, don't limit your exercise to aerobic activity. Although good, you want to work some weight lifting into your routine. This can kick start your metabolism if it gets stuck in a rut. Remember, muscle burns fat so muscle is good.
